Laura entered a drawing contest for kids with diabetes back in February shortly after diagnosed. She was chosen the national winner. Here is the link to the newspaper article the local paper did on her.

Laura said to tell you all Thank You!!!!
They are having awards day at school on the 22nd and I was just told today they have something planned for Laura that day too but wouldn't tell me just what…guess I'll find out when she finds out that day lol. I know she is supposed to present the CD-ROMs that day but other than that I'm clueless as to what the school has planned, should be interesting.

That's wonderful. Laura is such an inspiration to everyone. She has better control of her sugar than most of us adults. I wished I was as well controled as her. Tell her GREAT JOB! on winning the contest.

WOW congrats! Hearing about Laura always puts a smile on my face. How is she healing up since her bike accident?

She's healing up pretty well. Scabs fallen off her arm and most of them from her knee's already, she gets her stitches out on Friday that are in her side, she's happy about that because they are right where her panty waistband sits, actually had to get her some of those shorter cut styled ones and we have to keep a patch type bandage over it to keep her clothes from rubbing them but it looks good too and she's just past the itching stage with them.
