Limiting my carbohydrate intake has been the key for me to control my diabetes. There are phone apps that should give you the different carbohydrate values for certain portions of food. My advice to you is to become aware of all of the carbohydrates that you eat. Do you take injections of insulin or do you use an insulin pump? Even though I've had Type 1 for 38 years, I only started using an insulin pump in 2011. I'm sorry I waited so long. It gives me greater control with more flexibility and less overall insulin.
