I liked Splenda and used it for seven years. Since I used so little added sweetner, my nutritionist recommended going back to sugar. Her reasoning was to use as much natural product as possible. I know it has calories but typically I only use it once a day in my daily cup of tea.

Best? Not sure there is such a thing. In my opinion it is the lesser of the evils as there are negatives associated with all sugar substitutes.
For me Aspartame has worked. As Joyce said you need to figure out which one works for you.

There really isn't an answer to that question because there is so much controversy surrounding artificial sweeteners. Everyone thinks what they are using is the best. Personally I use Equal because I really don't like Splenda and I am allergic to natural sweeteners like Stevia.

You are going to have to find one that you like and not depend on what others like. Just like diabetes being different for people, so are sweeteners. Some people use the artificial, natural or none at all.
