Hi Has anyone heard of this? I was reading a Diabetes magazine called Diabetes self-management October 2014 issue. On page 70 in the upper right hand corner is an article about "Using the Diabetes Distress Scale". Well I read it all and went online to find this scale at http://familymedicine.medschool.ucsf.edu/pdf/.... Which the next screen says its a bad or non working website/page. As usual I am looking into ways to help myself or others with diabetes. Yet this website isn't there or working. So again I don't know to go looking for the Diabetes Distress Scale. Let me know if you have found this elsewhere or whatever. Thank you

This is great Tsalagil. My diabetes practitioner gave me a similar test when I went for my first visit and she said she will compare it to my results when I return in December to see the differences in my perception (stress level) of living with diabetes.

Very interesting assessment. I feel pretty good about how I scored. Thank you for posting.

Sure np Pegsy. I like to keep a good accounting for myself. This scale per se is a good source on how I am doing overall. Which is a good indicator of my overall well being. Thus I posted that for all of us with that intent. Have a great day!:)

Thank you everyone. I did Google it and finally was able to open it. I believe anything that would help the whole of a person instead of in bits is good. This test and etc. shows where you have a need or concern that could be checked over just in case. This is like having an insight into things you may not be aware of or denying. Needless to say that Diabetes is a part of you ok? But its not the be all end all either. Just taking it in stride and working with your Diabetic team (ha ha I am my own team LOL) or with whatever support you have then again getting the support or help you need is good anyway. Trust me doing this mostly by myself I am highly aware of changes, highs and lows now, and what does work for me for the most part. I just hope it helps anyone of you out there. Hugs

Dear T. It seems to me like it would have to do with stress levels. This is a big factor in my numbers. Herbie777 Shirley

Thanks Temi for sharing this.

The link opened fine for me, and sometimes I don't have a new enough PDF reader to open some files. (and I can't download the newer one as I don't have admin. priveleges on this machine I am using now - shared computer)

This looks to me like something Dr Gary might be interested in using in his practice (if he doesn't already use this or something like it)

God's best to you
James

It is a PDF so you may need to get a PDF reader. Adobe is free and will read and open PDF files for you.

are you saying that when you click that link you do not see the 8 page pdf "Diabetes Distress Scales"?
You may be having an issue with your browsers pdf reader. Did you try right clicking the link and then saving the file to your computer (or are you trying to do this on a phone)
