Hi, my name is izzy. I was just diagnosed with type one diabetes. I really want a pump. I am between the Omni pod and the one touch pump. I would really appreciate you input on this. Thanks!

The January 2014 "Diabetes Forecast" issue had a comparison of all the different types of pumps as well as other diabetes devices. You may want to check it out. I've been using a Medtronic Minimed Revel 523 pump for the past 3 years but, that doesn't appear to be on your list. If you want to discuss Medtronic, don't hesitate to ask. I love the pumping experience (after 35 year injecting insulin via syringe) and hope I never have to go back to shots. Medtronic has been a very responsive company to any concerns I've had.

Howdy Izzy
I believe the difference between the one touch and the Omnipod is the lack of tubing on the latter. If you are the Anon who just posted prior to posting this perhaps the lack of tubing might be important for a student athlete as you won't have tubing hanging out somewhere to snag on something.

Otherwise it is pretty much even. Wondering why you have narrowed it down to just those two?

God's best to you
