My daughter is 11 and always runs out earlier than her refill date. Any suggestions?

I guess I am a bit late to this discussion but I'm sure people still come across this post so I will give my recommendation anyways. I found thid company through a friend and have had nothing but great experiences with them. their price is at least 20% less than the majority of other sites. The company name is YDS Supplier and here is a link to their FreeStyle Lite test strips.. . Hope this is of use to someone..

Thankyou! I have been looking on ebay, Craigslist and Amazon as well. She has the omnipod. The meter is inside of the pod so I can't use any other blood strips. When she sticks her finger the pod reads her BG and then it deploys the insulin. It's all in one. They are so expensive to buy them out of pocket.

Have you asked her Dr to write to the insurance company to increase her Rx of strips to the amount she needs per month? If a need can be demonstrated they should allow it.

I have a ReliOn Prime that I use when my prescription for the Freestyle Lite test strips run out (only get 100 every 90 days). which is a bummer as I love the FS Lite

Just last night I went up to Walmart to buy the Reli On Meter and Strips. I did not do it because for some reason the pharmacy filled my daughters prescription earlier than they should. That's the First! Anyway, I do like that Idea. Now why are they so cheap? Are the numbers accurate? I know that is difficult to know but you know your body. When you feel low do the Relion Strips and Meter show low numbers? Thanks for all the feed back.

I never go low … so can't answer that. … but … The ReliOn Prime was my everyday meter for almost two years and 3 times I tested with the ReliOn before labs to compare with their results and was never off by more than 5 so I feel they are as accurate as anything out there. Just not as easy to use as the Freestyle Lite.

not hard just that the freestyle lite are really easy … I have some spacticity in my left arm / hand thanks to a stroke and the freestyle is just easier. pretty sure for a 'normal'person not much difference
