I am new to the site, but I have heard something extremely alarming.

In Massachusetts, it would appear that any Diabetic that has a Hypo and is looking after their child, is seen as a perpetrator of neglect. If you have taught your child to call for help i.e dial 911, please get a friend or relative to help out Diabetics have been reported to the Department of Children and Families for neglect, because their child made the call. Ignorant members of emergency services immediately submit these reports because they believe that making a call like this, is too much responsibility for your child. Please be aware and careful. In this state, you are guilty until proven innocent.

Can you provide us with any more information about this? Where and when did this happen? Is there a link to any news article about this?

Wow! Since when it having your kids learn when to call 911 deemed "irresponsible"? Some people have service dogs that do it. Good grief, this is crazy. I have not hear of that here in Florida, but I don't have any little ones, so I could be out of the loop.
