I haven't been online much for the past couple of months or so. During that time I've been working very hard at trying to bring my BSLs back under control. When I had seen my endocrinologist several ago my A1c level was 9.6. I really couldn't figure out what was happening. I knew I didn't want to be on insulin, nor did i want the inevitable side effects of uncontrolled BSLs. So I started exercising more. I even walked during my breaks. I took my snacks as well as my lunches to work. I was careful how i prepared my food. I drank a lot of water. Anytime I ate or exercised I wrote it down in a diary. Last week I saw my endocrinologist. My A1c was 5.3. Also, because of my weight loss and other things, my doctor reduced my oral medication. Most of all, I feel so much better. I'll keep working at it. I can't stop now! Take care.

Congratulations. That is truly awesome. It shows people it can be done if they just put their mind to it and truly want to instead of just whining about it and want a quick fix. It is a lifestyle change forever.

I love hearing stories like this because it shows just how much we can do personally to get our diabetes under our own control. Great job!
