Does anyone else have this? Tis morning I took my sugar level on my right hand and it was 163 then i took it again on my left finger and it was 132!! I find that my right hand is always higher than if I take it on my left! I also asked the experts but havent gotten an answer yet. Just thought I would bring it up here.

Rachel already brought up the possibility of food residue on fingers which could affect your reading. That's one of the reasons it is always recommended to wash your hands with warm, soapy water, prior to testing. It is not unusual to have different values even when you re-test the same finger right away although I wouldn't expect the variance to be as great as what you experienced between your right and left hand. I have also experienced a variance testing the same finger, one right after the other, but using a different brand meter.

How strange, I don't have a definitive explanation for you. But keep in mind that if you are right handed, and eat with your right hand, you might have food residue that is interfering with your glucose numbers.
