I had an appointment on Wednesday for a lab to find out my new A1C but I couldn't wait so I went today. The clinical pharmacist that I work with wanted me to be between 6 and 7, I was shooting for a 5 since my daily readings were so good. She called around 11:00am just as I was leaving for a bike ride. My new A1C is 5.5 which is awesome. I celebrated by riding 15 miles instead of the 11 that I was going to do. I'm pretty jazzed as I've gone from 14.7 in May to 5.5 today. Hooray!!!
I love riding my bike so even though it is exercise, it does not feel like it. The Jillian Michaels workouts definitely feel like exercise. I took my dvd's with me to work out while I was in Orlando but obviously could not take my weights. Actually, I say obviously but I had planned to take them with me as they are only 3 lbs each but my hubby nixed that since we only took one suitcase.
I decided to go to the little store at the resort and buy two containers of water the same size to use as weights and then use them to drink after the Jillian workout. I was in the store lifting bottles to see if they were heavy enough but easy to hold. I had found some 28 oz. containers but they were square and difficult to hold while holding above my head. I grabbed two bottles put them over my head and the tried bringing them down behind my head. I dropped one when the cashier came over and asked what I was doing :-)
I ended up with two 20 oz bottles that worked pretty good and used one of them while I was at the gym on the recumbent bicycle. I did not like the gym bicycle but did go 11 miles on it and parts of it were pretty tough. I'd much rather ride outside and see the hills that I'm going to ride up in person.
