Has anyone heard of A friend at work made me aware of it and I have to say it helps out with dieting a great deal. It is a free sight and allows you to keep track of the food you eat and by giving you calorie counts, carb counts, etc. If you are having problems losing weight or need to know what nutrition you are actually putting in your body Sparkpeople is the place to go. i found that website to be really annoying for some reason. "tu diabetes" was really helpful though.

Yes, it's a great site!

I love the nutrition & exercise trackers - especially the exercise because seeing the number of minutes grow is an incentive to do even more.

I just wish they'd stop with he "low-fat" & "low-calorie" is good (and who cares about the carbs?) mentality of some of their emails/articles.

Hello Genie!

My philosophy with losing weight use to focus on low fat. I believe in the low calorie apporoach to weight loss because it is more measureable than low fat. The main focus for me is low calories and low carbs (due to diabetes) and of course lots of exercise. I see the most results of weight loss while keeping my calorie intake low (1500 - 1700) daily and trying to keep my carb intake below 70/day. I rarely meet my calorie intake for the day I average about 1100 but I don't feel like I'm starving…I guess its because of the food I eat. Lots of fresh veggies and lean meat…hardly any red meat; fish & chicken mainly.
