I did a search on internal nerapathy discusions. It did not answer my concerns.
I have been getting electrical like shocks in my body cavity. I was getting electrical shocks in my legs at night and my doctor put me on cymbalta. The shocks stoped and I could sleep. The cymbalta isn't doing any thing for this problem. I'm just wondering if neropathy can causes this type of problem with your insides. I have gastroparesis caused from post polio. Have had this for at least 20 years (not fun). Some think gasteroparesis is caused from neropathy. I know the pain from gasteroparesis and I have no electrical shock like feelings from it. If you have any thoughts on this I would be thankful. please forgive my mis spelled words.

I get something similar in my back, just this quick jolt over and over for several minutes then it goes away. However, mine doesn't happen on a daily basis but still more often then I would like. I did ask my doctor about it recently and she told me that yes it is part of the neuropathy. I wasn't put on any medication for it for the simple fact that it isn't daily and doesn't last very long when it does occur, but she told me if it did get worse we should look into adding a medication…yipee more drugs, like I'm not a walking pharmacy already lol

Hey Two! That you are losing sleep is a big enough issue to get to the doc, and pepper him with questions till he regugitates the correct responses!!! Add in the electric feeling, WELL, that doctor would have some 'splainin' to do and ASAP!! Tell your doctor without YOU, he is nowhere!!

Hugs to you, and I care too, Joyce

I don't know a lot about this topic. But from what I have read, yes, neuropathy can effect any nerves in the body. Certainly, that would include the nerves inside your body.

I'm so sorry for your pain and discomfort. It seems to me that any new pain ought to be checked out with your doctor just to make sure it's not a sign of a critical condition and to see if there's any treatment that can help.
