My diabetes was caught early and I am sure someday, I will need special shoes. But I have no problems with my feet, I'm not on insulin, actually I am not even on the pills I was taking. At diabetes class, no one said I really needed to and I forgot to ask. I recently bought some New Balance tennis shoes (not specially designed diabetic shoes) and I love them! They are very comfortable. I have thought of getting diabetic inserts, and see how that is. couldn't hurt.

Hiya there! I have been wearing Diabetic shoes off and on for years now but have VERY large feet where I have to wear mens shoes for regular shoes. I also have had other problems too. I have only had one pair of Diabetic shoes to complain of out of a few, for the most part they really did help. Good luck! Love yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Sheila

I wore new balance shoes for years. I wore them to work ever day. They are the best as far as I am concerned. I am in diabetic shoes now because of my feet. I have hammertoes and a cyst on my ankle.I also have neuropathy in my feet and legs.I was diagnosed in 1994 with typell.I hope this helped. I wouldn't rush things unless you have a problem and a foot Dr. tells you need the diabetic shoes.
