Ok, so in December my sugar kept staying above 200, I thought it was diet issues even though I wasn't that bad. Then in January blood turned up in my urine, no just a lot of blood. I was sent to a urologist who diagnosed a stone in the urita (sp) CT scan, kidney scan..ultra sounds.. blah blah blah so many urine tests… by March it was "the stone must have broken up" then in June the blood came back, there must be another stone, and you have an infection, so I take the antibiotics… July it comes back even worse… luckily I saw a different Dr in the urologist office, my primary sent the new tests which indicated critical levels of bacteria. .. the new urologist immediately said I had to see a nephrologist because he thinks I am suffering Renal Papillary Necrosis… the nephrologis doesn't really agree although after multiple urine tests including a 24hour urine study, all of which show proteins and significant blood in the urine, I have to wait until Sept 8 for her to discuss the results. … seriously? It's like the military, hurry up and wait
Thankfully the blood isn't as bad as it was but it's still there… my A1C is down to 7 since they upped my meds 2000 mg Met- 8mg Glimpirde (sp) and injections at night 13 units.. I'm 5'10, 150… don't you just love genetics

So you think these complications are diabetes related ? maybe/maybe not
Don't blame them on diabetes so quickly.

The urologist is hoping it is one of my diabetes meds and if that is the case then it could be changed and the kidney could heal itself if there isn't too much damage, that's what I'm hoping too
