I know I need to exercise to help me lose weight. I really can't do too much due to me having spinal stenosis in my lower back. It's very painful.
Can anyone recommend a rather gentle exercise program? Perhaps using different areas of my body?

You might ask your doctor for a referral to a physical therapist who can give you an individualized exercise plan based on what is going to be the best for you. ~Lynn @Glucerna

Howdy Calayx
To be sure, exercise is important. However I believe the best way to lose weight is not by exercise, but by eating a low carb high protein meal plan. I lost 65 lbs within 5 months, achieved an A1c of 5.5, maintained a general BG (blood glucose) level of 80 to 130 mg/dl, all without the use of diabetes meds.
I had written up my meal plan as a discussion here on DC and if you're interested, I will send you the link.

I had done miminal exercise as I have burning neuropathy of the feet and each step was and is painful. standing was and is.painful too.

As far as exercises you may be able to do, search for seated exercises on youtube. there is seated Yoga which can be done as well as other seated exercises.

God's best to you
