When I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in January, my blood sugar was 347 and my A1c was 11.7.
In April my blood sugar readings were in the 90s and my A1c was 5.9.
My latest blood sugar readings are in the 80s and 90s and my A1c is 5.0.
I cut out the regular Coke, sweet tea and sunny D along with the good tasting foods while taking Metformin and lost 55 pounds.
My doctor is allowing me to cut my dosage of Metformin in half and I hope to go off of it altogether soon.

You really are getting the best of diabetes, aren't you? It's great to hear how you've made so many significant changes in your food choices and are making fantastic progress. ~Lynn @Glucerna

congrats!!! just read another similar story. My A1Cs have all been in the 5 range, 5.7 and lower, but I have never been lower than 5.3 and I want to so bad!!! I want to know how I can get there. I never ever drink sodas. They told us in D class that was the one thing we could not have and to be careful to drink only a small small amount of juice and to pair that with certain things, but I do not drink juice though I love it. I stay away from white rice, I eat white potatoes in moderation and things like that. eat lots of veggies and some fruit eat day
