So I went to the doctor for a1c… It was ok 7.0. Still down but not as low as he would like of course, so he changed up my meds…FINALLY! ( this is a new doc, one who actually listens to me) we dumped glimepiride and he has me on a new one called FARXIGA. So far my finger pricks are around 115 to 120, way lower. AND I have finally lost 8 lbs!!!!!!! Now I feel I have a reason to work so hard. Two years of doing the same thing has = no weight loss! feeling sluggish and very dizzy , and bg not where it needs to be. There is a down side to this new med, insurance won't cover it YET. And it's 397.00 for 30 pills. I am working with my insurance to help change that now.
Is anyone else using this? Are you having the same results as I?

I just started taking Farxiga. My numbers not down yet though. My doctor gave a discount card since my insurance (upmc) wouldn't cover the 397.00 cost. I get the meds for free with the card.

Try contacting the manufacturer of the medicine many times they have programs to help you afford your medication. Great work with the weight loss…keep it stable
