Welcome dianef! Very nice to have you here with us!!! Tell me, do you like the ping better than the medtronic, and we you on the paradigm? I've been on the paradigm for 3 years now, lemme hear your insight, it would be appreciated!

I was on the 712. I like the size of the screen, it is eaier to read on the ping. The ping is very easy to learn to use. You have to push more buttons to bolus on the ping than on the medtronic one. (don't like that). The medtronic holds more units (300) than the ping (200). They are pretty close. I love the remote that came with my ping, but medtronic also makes a remote. I have used the medtronic and am so used to it. When it was time to get a new pump, the medtronic sales person was rude so I decided to go with the ping. They have good features, but I have only been on this ping for about a month so I am not sure which one I like better yet. Right now the medtronic is in the lead just because I am used to it i think

Thank you for the information, all of it was very helpful! When did you try to get a new medtronic pump? I've had this one for 3 years now, and am hoping the integrated sensor feature comes out before I run out of warranty time!

Hi Diane and welcome! I am Type 1 and was diagnosed on December 01, 2008. I could definitely use your years of wisdom with Type 1! Wow, I know of 2 more members who have been of Type 1 for over 40 years. I'm sure there are more, but I have 2 great friends that have helped me a lot. You will love Diabetic Connect and there are a bunch of great Type 1's and 2's. I'm Angie and it's a pleasure to meet you!
