I must first thank Mr. John Crowley for putting his blessing on the new "Change the World…Global Diabetic Awareness" Project, by allowing me to bring you this message on DC.

There are many exciting projects underway, and still in development. But let me first share with you the one that has taken on a viral like following already. It is the "World Diabetic KID'Z Day", a Petition that we have started. I urge you to join us in this wonderful Project by visiting the Petition at:

Together we can, and will, make a difference on this front. And what is even more exciting, this is only the start. Together we will tell Diabetes "We are not afraid of IT, IT better be afraid of US".

Let's show the world just how much Diabetic Connect rocks!

Glad I'm not the only one with that problem (LOL).

Lady Di,
I'm not sure which one it is. My mind working faster than my fingers, or my fingers working faster than my mind. Then there is, my mind just not working! LOL

Let's don't go there (LOL). I'm sure that's probably the case with me at times, but I think more often than not my mind is racing ahead of my fingers.

Hello lovely Cyndi. I cannot begin to convey the love, passion, determination, and pure drive I have re-discovered within me because of this effort. It has always been there, only dormant until now.

And it also has reminded me that I have Carpel in both hands together with Arthritis that is not getting better. But Mark-John was kind enough to share a workaround. It goes something like this:

1. insert drinking straw in mouth.
2. proceed to attack the keyboard with straw in mouth!

If that is what it takes for me to continue this effort, and proudly watch it grow, then I'm buying boxes of straws!

cyncyn 2009-05-01 18:46:00 -0500 Report

i'm right there with you. i'll up you one, i'll buy several cases After surgery in two weeks, this may be how i'll have to do it. So be it! .

alwaystryin 2009-05-01 17:07:27 -0500 Report

Good for you! I applaud your efforts and involvement!

alwaystryin 2009-05-01 17:16:34 -0500 Report

And may I also add, that if ANYONE of you lovely people on DC would like more information, at least what we can share at this point, please send me a message.

And on a sadder note, we have already been faced with what I am calling the "diabetes is only mine" and the "stepping on toes" people. WHY anyone affected with this terrible 'disease' would take that attitude, and at the same time claim to be engaged in their struggle, well I can't really say what I would like, but it S*cks.

So if you encounter this oxymoronic attitude, let it make your resolve stronger!

As old as I am, people never cease to amaze me. Humans are very complicated beings, aren't they? Often very hard to understand. But it makes life interesting and challenging and, as you put it, makes our resolve stronger.
