So are you saying you think cinnamon capsules help type 1? I want to know only because I too am type 1. I already use regular cinnamon on foods and see no difference but I like the taste…Debe

Well, really there is no conclusive proof that it will help anyone. Some people say they see a benefit, I tried it and did not and I know a number of other people have found the same. The basic theory is cinnamon contains a few compounds that are thought to help with insulin resistance. Although I don't really think there are any stats about how many type 1's are insulin resistant I would imagine it isn't all that high. The best it would do would be to slightly reduce the amount of insulin you need.

I too would like the answer to this. I will ask my Endo when I go on May 20th. I know John thought it might pertain to insulin resistance in type 1 but I am not that. But I do eat cinnamon on various foods and enjoy it. I guess it won't hurt me either way…Debe
