Do we need a "Diabetes" category?

I want to start a thread that involves all diabetics of all types. Am I supposed to start a separate thread for esch of the four types listed? On other sites there is a "Diabetes" category that is used to address all members at the same time when such a topic arises. I would like to see that here too. John, Amy are you there? What do you {all members) think? I am going to wait and start my other thread later.

I agree with you Richard. Recently Laura was re-diagnosed as a double diabetic (yes I know we have talked about this possibly being the case with her before). There isn't a place for her on the discussion board now as it is, she isn't T1 she isn't T2 she is both…so where does her diabetes belong on this site???? At least if there were a general diabetes thread I would know where to put in a discussion about her, even in profile there isn't such an option if your a double diabetic. In my opinion a general coverage of all types would be nice so that all diabetics can be included.
Great idea Richard, now lets see if the power's that be can make it happen.

Woo-Hoo. I love that Richard. That would probably make me get on here more. I would probably use that thread the articale, and news thread and the recipe thread. It takes me to long to go through all the discussions. I really have alot of work I do on the computer so that is wy I mainly do this site. I have learned so much about diabetes here and enjoy that. I think if I could get on and go directly to the dibetic discussions I will be able to answer more threads. I do understand the friends like to ask questions and that all fine, but noone seems to go through all the pages of discussions to see most of these discussions have been started 3 or 4 times already so the discussion threads get longer and longer. I think there is probably 4 or 5 discussions on A1C and etc. This should be all contained in 1 discussion otherwise we are using so much space to answer everyone question over and over again. My personal opinion is I like to have a category with Just diabetes and it will be easier for me to go to. I am saying it is okay for all the other discussions but it will be a real gem to come on and go to just a section that is most inportant to me…Debe

I certainly would like to see a diabetes catagory in the news & articles. To seperate diabetes new from the other general new. Not that I dont want to see those also, just seperated.

Interesting thought, I've had also. You put it in a good context. With 1 1.5 and 2's, what would you call it?

I would call it "General Diabetes Discussion". There would still be separate categories listed for T1, T2, T1.5, Pre-D and Gestational.
