I have been diagnosed with diabetes lada 3 months ago. It is difficult for me to find information about it. I am taking oral pills to control it. As far as I know, diabetes lada or also called 1.5 is a slow developing type 1 diabetes. I am 46 years old, not obese and nobody in my family suffers from diabetes. I would appreciate any information about it. Thanks!

Here is one of the better articles I found on it. http://www.diabeticconnect.com/news-articles/7276-the-other-diabetes-lada-or-type-1-5/portal
Here is also a site that has LADA Awareness week information on it. It's in October, and there were many links inside the page that might help out. http://www.diabeticconnect.com/news-articles/7528-lada-awareness-week/portal

Howdy Mon
There has been in the past much written on DC about T1.5 or LADA. You can find these discussions and other writings by going to the search engine here on DC (found in the upper right corner of this page) and typing LADA (or) Type 1.5 in the query box.

But be warned, some of the opinions posted by some of those who claim to be T 1.5 may be quite controversial.

I pray you find this helpful

James

I was feeling very tired and thirsty and ask to my doctor for a blood test, thinking I might have lack of iron. My morning blood sugar level was 344!!!
