Haven't posted for a while, been riding the blood sugar express.
As a type 2, I hoped diet, exercise, and oral meds could control my numbers, I had to give up and admit it couldn't 2 days ago
I started Lantus and I am continuing Metformin. In 2 dats my morning sugars went from 400s to 222 to 160.
Anyone else have this experience?
My A1C had actually increased before this change, my dr does not believe Type 1.5 exists despite me explaining that I was following the symptoms that I had been told about.

Insulin is not a bad word. I am glad to see it worked so well for you and with diet and exercise continuing, it will be no time before you are in ranges that will improve your A1c.
I would however, look for a new doctor who is willing to listen to you.

I give you a lot of credit for realizing that insulin would help you manage diabetes, and you're seeing fantastic results. The American Diabetes Association article on Type 1.5 will give you more information that you can discuss with your physician. ~Lynn @Glucerna
