Hi Diabeticdummy,

I have friends that are on U500 and have gained weight as well. I am going to the gym as well as doing Aquatherapy 2 times a week.

I'm on a strict diet Jayabee let me in on with a few tweaks as i don't have to be as strict as he has to be but it has helped me to avoid the weight gain as my previous mistakes were i was low carb but still kinda high on the calories so i had to get them down to and i did i swim allot as it is easiest exercise i can do due to my lingering issues from t2 complications over last 2.5 yrs I'm getting better though the amount of food I'm on now i thought I'd starve but been doing really good and blood tests and scale and eery 4 weeks have been able to reduce amount of insulin i use in my pump for three days started out at 300 units eery three days now 4 months later I'm at 100 units for three days had to go on pump due to bg not controlled with shots was taking 300-600 units a day 6-8 shots a day it's a slow process and hard work and temptation to give up and go back to familiar routine is great but i fight it off and keep on going

I have not been eating that many carbs. I have been put on a stricter diet by my nutritionist and the doctors are keeping a closer eye on me.

As for my insulin doses I am on 26 units at Breakfast 20 at Lunch and 14 at dinner.

Other than that I am doing awesome.

Howdy LadyJ

No I don't use insulin myself at all right now but I had in a couple of years ago.

However, your mention of weight gain causes me to wonder what and how much are you eating? Too many carbs and insulin (injected or not) often cause weight gain due to fat cells being filled.

God's best to you
