I just started useing a new meter my Dr ordered for me called Eclipse and find it far better than I previously had. (accu chek, true test, or optium) for features it has a low battery symbol. icons to set with readings to keep track if readings were taken before, or after meals, after taking medication or after exercise. records room temp when readings are taken also. It also has an built in alarm clock with ability to set up to 5 seperate alarms for setting consitant testing times. Unsure what type meters everyone else uses but highly recomend the eclipse of covered by there insurance. I have medicare and it covered mine in full. David

I was switched from Freestyle Lite to Accu-check Aviva. My co-pay was the lowest for the Aviva. I pay $5 a month for strips and lancets. I liked the Freestyle because it required very little blood. Accu-check requires twice as much, but my co-pay for just the Freestyle strips was more than $30.
