So first off sorry if this against the rules

what other websites do you go to to read up and chat about diabetes i go to a site called Diabetes Daily which has a fairly active forum and has articles and of course diabetic recipes (the link can be easily found on Google as i figured this was probably against the rules as it is and i know for a fact most websites don't like you posting competition(or just similar) websites )

so how about you?

No rules here about posting links to other diabetic sites. We all use them and getting more than one input stream is important. Much of what we share here comes from other sites and I am sure some of our stuff ends up on those sites as well.
My personal favorites are Dlfe, DiaTribe, Everyday Health, WebMD, and more. Those are my go to sites most of the time, (besides here)

I will check and comment on the Medtronic Diabetes site and belong to the Medtronic Minimed Ambassador site. They have provided me with some good links that I've shared as discussions here on DC. My Medtronic Ambassador site forbids us mentioning any competitor's products which I find stifling. I use a Medtronic insulin pump and am very pleased with it and Medtronic's support. I also will check Tudiabetes every now and then. I had joined another site (forget now which one) but I got beat up (verbally) when I had commented that a marshmallow (primarily sugar) was probably not the wisest food choice for a PWD. The person originally posting was complaining that their BG had risen after eating several marshmallows…!? (I wanted to say…Well doh!…what did you expect?) I was getting way too many notices and un-joined . I like the freedom and civility I find here on DC. I joined DC in 2010 and keep coming back.

Howdy Km
I will go to the other diabetes websites on occasion and browse and see what is happening there. I spend the majority of my time right here. I find this place more welcoming and warm than the other ('competetor') sites. That is why I have returned day after day for about 5 years now.

And really, I've read the Terms of Use thoroughly, and there is nothing in there which prohibits us from looking at other diabetes websites. The Terms are the only rules of which I am aware, so no problem!

God's best to you
James

thanks james I agree that the other places can be a bit more combative especially if you believe your doctor is competent and can help you manage your diabetes and thanks for looking at the terms i know we can look at them but usually what we are doing here (basically advertising) is usually against rules
