Just to get a little off my chest I'm 24 years old and got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in April. It heavily runs in my family and my physical activity and diet wasn't great which is why I now have diabetes. It's so hard to tell friends and family that I have diabetes I feel like I will be judged even if they are very caring and loving I feel like it's something I would be embarrassed about. I really want to tell everyone to get the support I need but I don't know if I'm ready to let everyone know just yet. I'm tired of hiding my pills I need to do this soon.

If diabetes runs heavy in your family why are you embarrassed to tell them they can be the best support you know the old adage been there done that and they know its hereditary so there just waiting for the next family member to be diagnosed basically just tell them who cares what people think it's a stress you don't need with t2 you'll feel better its out in the open and people will start to understand and chances are your family already sees the signs just waiting for you to come out

Don't worry about the past. Knowing how you got it ain't gonna fix it.
You are not alone. Reach out to others for help. (coming here is a good start)
Learn as much as you can about diabetes. (coming here is a good start)
Focus on what you can do at this moment to make yourself as healthy as possible.
Be forgiving. Start first by forgiving yourself.
Be loving. Start first by loving yourself.
Be patient. Take baby steps.
Meditate daily.
