So I was diagnosed in April put on metformin and another med glipizide I believe but I'm having so much trouble remembering to take my pill! What has helped you remember to take it ? Maybe a phone alarm but I don't eat at the same times everyday so it's hard to take with meals. Any suggestions? My doctor says I will be put on insulin if the metformin and glipizide don't work but how can I know if I'm not taking the meds right. So stressful this disease is tough!! :(

Howdy Chux
what factors are preventing you from eating at a somewhat regular time? Work?

If the oral medications don't work because of an irregular schedule, insulin won't be as effective either since to make it work the best insulin needs to be injected the same time each day.

Praying you can get it solved

you should take your metformin with meals and glipizide within 30 minutes of eating … this is kind of important. no way you can arrange you schedule so you can eat on a more regular basis? a small concession that will make you medication more effective.
