Hi All,
I am Type 2 and take Metformin. For those of you that take oral meds only, I am curious to know what time of day seems to work best for you to take meds and how long do you wait to exercise after taking meds. Every Dr I have asked has given me different answers. Thank You!!!

I take my Metformin with 4oz skim milk and 1 graham cracker every morning about 6. I take the evening dose around bedtime usually without food. I never thought anything about exercise and when I take my meds. I have not had side effects with or without food/exercise.

I take metformin twice a day at 6am and around 7pm. I exercise in the mornings between 7:30 am and 10 am. My doctor knows my routine but has never advised about period between taking metformin and start of exercise. From what I have been able to find out about metformin no one has mentioned time lapse betwen exercise and taking meds.
On the other hand I have not felt any ill effects with my routine.

I usually take metformin with a small snack, probably in the evenings..
I exercise in the am only and no metformin till late in the day.
