Hello DC!
I'm feeling a little annoyed! I went to the Dr. week & had my blood work done. Everything came bk normal, but I still got a letter stating that they'd like me to come in for a follow-up. I called bc I was a bit confused. They nurse told me they want to run another test bc my blood was clotting so they could do one and my a1c was higher this time than previously. It was 5.7 this time & 5.3 before. I'm not concerned bc before I was taking 2000mg of Metformin & they took it down to 50mg. That's a fourth of what I was taking! Just wonder if I have cause for concern… In your opinion.

Also, I've lost about 65lbs & want to lose more. I'm at a plateau and it's getting discouraging! I started working out 3-4 times a wk, but was wondering about other ways to kick start my weightloss again.

That a1c is perfect and many people would be lucky to have that a1c number. I would be cautious to have it even lower because you may put yourself at risk for hypoglycemia. Are you seeing an endocrinologist?

It's great that you've lost 65 pounds! Adding exercise is a great idea. Have you tried keeping a food log either on paper, or online or with an app? Simply paying more attention to what, how much, and when you eat can be helpful. ~Lynn @Glucerna

My late wife had to take warfarin to slow down her clotting. She had to avoid certain foods (which had "vitamin K" in them) and take a weekly "protime" test and adjust the warfarin dose up or down accordingly. (she was allergic to most other anti clotting medications, or they hadn't been approved yet)

I from this experience with "Jem" would be more concerned about the unusual

clotting than the dosing of the Met.

As far as weight loss, One of the things that helped me was to take my carbs down way low and bring my protein up to get those ketones burning up my fat stores for body and brain energy. (That does not suggest going into a DKA which can be a fear, but a controlled burn of Ketones kinda like what happens in an Atkins meal plan.)
