Snack During Sports Activity

I'm trying to find a snack to take when my bg goes down during sports. I'm allergic to nuts, chocolate, wheat, and soy.

Plain granola bars fit the criteria. But, I choke on them without a lot of water.

Currently, I'm taking sugar packs along with me. I would like something better.

The rock candy is a good suggestion, which is similar to the sugar packets I'm using now and should probably stick with.

Perhaps you could make your own Rock Candy which is basically just sugar and water. That way, you control the ingredients. I was going to suggest raisins, which is my go-to snack, but I see that 1/4 cup of raisins has .04 grams of citric acid (and perhaps other things) that you cannot tolerate.

Gluco-Gel or Gluco shots (liquid) come in many different flavors and get BG back up quickly although I find them less palatable than gummy bears. …but I'm less tempted to indulge in the gel or liquid when I shouldn't. Most pharmacies (e.g. Walgreen's, CVS) and WalMart sell their own brands.

Flavored ones have citric acid, which give me a headache. Liquids have preservatives, which cause inflammation and cancer.
