There is no one right answer to this question. It depends on many factors including age, gender, height, activity level. Have you determined how many carbs per day you are currently consuming? If you need to lose weight and/or get better BG numbers, lower the amount of daily carbs you eat. I am 5'3", 120 lbs, 65 year old female who is moderately active. I limit myself to 120 grams of total carbs per day: 30 at breakfast, 45 at lunch and 45 at dinner…no snacks. It works for me. You can increase your sensitivity to insulin (whether it's insulin you produce or inject) by increasing your exercise level. It truly is a balancing act and the balance point differs for each and every one of us.

Contact your doctor. He is the only one who can answer that question. A registered dietitian can help you plan meals and include snacks.

Diabetes is not one size fits all. The amount of carbs can be different for each person based on A1C and your glucose readings.

The best people to answer that are dr and or diatician for your individual needs but I try to stick to around fifty carbs per meal and 20 for snacks 2 -3 a day for a total of around 200 carbs a day and that's subject to change depending on bg level before meal
