I need advise. I am new here so be patient with me :). I had triple bypass surgery jan 31 st of this year. Since then my bs levels have been extremely high. Is this to be expected? I have congestive heart failure too and on a lot of meds for that. I walk and exercise. I try to follow both a cardio and diabetic diet to no avail. Please any suggestions would be so helpful and appreciated.

Stress can certainly be a factor in elevated BG's and surgery is definitely stressful, both physically and mentally. What medications do you take to control your diabetes? During this stressful time, you may need more of it until you regain better BG"s. How many carbohydrates do you currently eat per day. I've found that limiting my carbs is the key for maintaining my control. Try cutting back on your daily carbs, that might help. Wishing you well!
