I'll never be a cucumber again!
Finally figured out what has been nagging me in the back of my mind.
I spent most of my career working in the addictions field. Early on I met this old AA guy who used the following anaolgy when explaining alcoholism to people that were having trouble wrapping their head around the concept and it revolved around cucumbers.
He would say you can take a cucumber and pickle it, you can take the pickle out of the juice and dry it out BUT no matter what you do it'll never be a cucumber again, its been changed forever.
Thats whats been eating at me.

True, but you can now do a few things to that pickle, like dice it, slice it, grind it, eat it, play with it, use it as a football. It might not be a cucumber anymore but it still has merit.
By the way, I do like the way that was put by your old AA friend.
LOVE it!!
I like that. And I decided this week I had been strssing so much about my weight but now I am going to be in control and fat instead of skinny and miserable. LOL
Good for you! Cara

Hey Dave,
I can understand that feeling and why it's been bothering you, but any and everything we encounter in life changes us forever. Sometimes it's for the good other times it is for the bad. It is up to us what we do with these changes.
*hugs*
