Peanut butter. With a spoon. Right from the jar (but you've got to be real careful - it's addicting). Hard boiled eggs, egg salad, tuna salad. Oddly, even pork rinds have no carbs but up to 17g. protein if you can get past the sodium and fats.

My all time favorite would have to be a small apple cut in slices and with alittle peanut butter on top. If that is not available, I like baby carrots with ranch dressing. If the carrots are too hard, you can try steaming them alittle, then put them back into frig to get cold again. Good luck.

Thanks for the idea of steaming then chilling. I work over the internet and use the phone a lot, so carrots take a long time to chew properly. So this idea will work much better.

Here's a new one I just discovered.

Three Triscuit Cracked Pepper & Olive Oil crackers and 1 oz. mozzarella string cheese.

The crackers are great and have a real peppery kick to them which helps me feel more full. All together it's only 130 calories, 11 grams of carbs, 1.5g of fiber, and 10g of protein.

Give it a try.

Sugar free jello cups are cold and refreshing with few calories. Low fat string cheese is another favorite in my house. The no sugar added fudge bars are really tasty if you need a chocolate fix.

Sheila, you know I get mixed up on food, snacks and cooking. The one thing I can eat day or night that seems to not mess with my blood sugar is cottage cheese. It's strange, before I was diagnosed, I hated it, now I can't get enough. I love it and it makes your hair shinny too! :) You have some good suggestions, good luck friend, Angie

I like the sugar free puddings. The dark chocalate one is heavenly. Dulce de leche is great if you like caramel. I like celery with cream cheese. I love almonds and walnuts. Slices of avocado with balsamic vinegrette dressing. I love the Laughing Cow cheese wedges. One wedge is 35 calories. So I eat it with 7 Triscuits. I also buy alot of the 100 calorie snacks like Cheeze Its, Chex Mix. Apple slices with peanut butter. This week I have eaten 1/4 cantaloupe with a little cottage cheese. Also yogurt with about a tablespoon of Grape Nut cereal for the crunch. I love the Yoplait yogurts. Hope you find something from this list you like.

Is it true that cottage cheese is good to eat for low carb? Sheila

Sheila, have you ever been taught to read food labels? If not check out this site and it will give you at least the basics on how to tell if something is low carb or not. If you need help with it, let me know and I'll help you.

Hi how are you??? I have been finding the danon yogarts have been helping. The low fat and lower sugar ones. There are so many flavors . Also the sugar free puddings are good.
Some cheese for protein , I dont care for cottage cheese .but you can get ricotta if you like that. Hope this helped a little bit. Have a great weekend .
Hugs dyanne

I buy the Quaker baked Morning Minis, they're chewy bite sized cookies great for snacking.
I also snack on peanuts and I've heard that almonds are good too.

Back when I had good control (now I'm a smoking wreckage), I would do peanuts occasionally, also pumpkin seeds. The pumpkin seeds have so little carbs, you can go to town on them (watch the sodium).

I've been told that nuts (peanut butter for you) are a good snack. So is some fruit, yogart.
