I started the new Discussion for next month and I want to remind myself to stay positive and keep trying. So next month is for a new start and hopefully it gets me going this time more faithfully.
My steps for yesterday are now here.
Steps: 7694
Miles: 3.642
Calories: 207.7
Now that is just from the walking not from the vaccumming doing laundry or even from doing the dishes. I was also sewing and making a new top for my glider outside. I am making a green flower one for the cushions and topper. It is really looking good and then I am almost done with another project that will be getting shipped to Alabama. When these are done I have another 49 Lap Quilts to make and take into Sycamore Village for the Alz. Unit. They have 46 Residents and 49 beds in that Unit. I use to work that Unit and that is why I am making one for each bed they have there.
Just finished breakfast had a bowl of Shredded Wheat with peaches. That hit the spot today. I am full and have some more sewing to get finished so I will sign off for now and be back later if not to tired tonite, otherwise I will see you again tomorrow morning.

I was picking at the popcorn most of today. but it wasn't really that bad I don't think.
Now for my steps for the two days total as I never set it back last nite and I kept right on with the counting today as well.
Steps for two days: 11375
Miles for two days:5.386
Calories for two days: 307.1
One of these days I am going to add all of the steps and miles and calories I get for a whole week and see where that leads me.

So as you all can see you don't have to post every day just when you remember or when you have time.
Have a good night and see you all real soon.

Lets start with the Step Counter first.
Steps: 7897
Ok that is better. I have been very busy for the last 2 days and yesterday I went to bed at 6 pm and didn't get uptill 3:55 this morning. I wasn't feeling very well yesterday am better to day but getting ready for bed. If I am coming down with something I am not going to give it a chance to catch me.
My sugars have been up and down all day and I'm not sure what to make of it. I forgot to bring in my log book so will post those in the morning as I have already posted the other numbers and don't want to mess up tonight. Every time I post I clear for my next group of numbers so the only numbers on there tonight is to bed and the bathroom if I get up thru the nite.
Have a good night all and will talk to yous in the morning.
Your Friend Always;
p.s. Here is the BG numbers from Sat. before breakfast 197 after Breakfast 335; before Lunch 242 and then before Lupper 116 Didn't check it again and didn't take my Lantus either before Bed.

Edie 2009-04-16 20:49:14 -0500 Report

before breakfast my BG was 179 I had a bowl of frosted mini wheats with out milk, it was sour. So I had a glass of ice water instead while playing on the computer with my meal planing.
Then before Lunch my BG was 263 I had a ham and cheese sandwich with one slice of tomato ontop. and a 32 oz glass of lemonade.
2 hours later it was only 252 so it had dropped 11 points. Didn't check my BG again tonight.
I did Laundry again today and was running back and forth from one end of the trailer to the other. so my steps were up a bit for it.
Steps: 5761
Not bad for an off day. No more off days from my Diabetes this last one I am paying for now. It seems as I get older each year it takes me longer to get back from my Diabetes Off Day.
So from now on I will bake and fix the goodies and then give them all away to Neighbors and Friends in the Trailer Park. Maybe I will keep just a taste of each for us but no more.
Well its been a long day for me so I'm signing off now for the night. Talk more to all tomorrow.

here is how my day went.
Steps: 4674
Miles: 2.213
calories: 126.1
Now those calories are only for the steps I took. Not for anything else I have done for the day. Later I am going to make up a chart of activities and the calories burned for a period of time. I know that the more you weight the more the activity burns in calories. I am going to check into a item that they say keeps track of the calories you burn with what ever you do. If now to much I may get it.

My blood gluecose this morning was 153 before Breakfast. I had 2 slices of wheat toast and a 16oz. cup of Hot Cocoa.
Had nothing for Lunch not hungry yet. I made Bill the no bake cookies and ate 3 of them. Not bad haven't made them in almost a year.
Before Supper my BG was 347 I fixed wild rice and pork chop with pasta and garlic and olive oil and warmed up a can of Sweet potatoes small can I took a small helpping of all and waited 2 hours and my BG was 266so it came down about 81 points. Not bad. Will be following the Diet completely tomorrow and from now on. I had my one day off for this year on My Diabetes. Didn't do as bad as I thought. No testing and no Meds for one day.I almost forgot to let you all know that I have an appointment with Curves on Monday at 1:00 pm am thinking of joining it. Will talk more to you all tomorrow.

Well first I will let you all know I have been a very bad girl today. I have not checked my Blood Sugar all day. I cleaned up the kitchen, front room, bathrooms, sewing room and then I made cookies and brownies. I only had 2 brownies and 4 of my oatmeal raisin cookies. thought I was hungry for them they sounded so good till I got them done. to sweet for me. made me half sick put the rest in the cookie jar for the others. My light house squells on me everytime I go to get a cookie so not a problem there as I don't want them after all the hard work of making them. Tomorrow I am making the No Bake Cookies with my Splenda and a Graham Cracker Cake if I can find my recipe with out the glaze sugar don't spike that way.
Now for my step numbers:
Yes I wore it all day and I am glad I did I think I did very good with them this time.
Steps: 3882
Calories: 104.8
Not bad for not going outside today.
Will let all know how I faired with the BG numbers in the Morning with my fasting number.
Good Night All!

Happy Easter Everyone. Following you will find a nice change of pace. I found 13 Snacks for Diabetics from Everyday Health.com There is also other Diabetes Help at this website. Enjoy the snacks for all of us.

13 Quick & Easy Snacks for Diabetics
Munch on healthy snacks to keep your energy high and your blood sugar levels stable all day long.
From www.everydayhealth.com
1. Sugar-Free Hot Cocoa
Sip a warm cup of rich-tasting, sugar-free hot cocoa to beat the munchies. One cup of fat-free milk blended with one envelope of sugar-free cocoa mix makes a great snack — and is a good source of calcium and antioxidants! Look for a sugar-free dark-chocolate cocoa mix because dark chocolate is the richest source of these nutrients. Then relax and savor the flavor.
2. Baked Chips and Salsa
If you want an easy-to-prepare, crunchy snack with delicious flavor, you will love this dynamite duo. A serving of vitamin C-rich salsa (two tablespoons) combined with a one-ounce serving (about 10 chips) of low-fat, potassium-rich baked potato chips might be the perfect combo to satisfy those afternoon cravings.
3. Popcorn
Popcorn is the king of comfort foods! This high-fiber, crunchy snack tantalizes the taste buds as the kernels begin to pop. Select a low-fat variety that can be microwaved or air-popped — a healthy choice will give you just 45 to 60 calories and only one to two grams of fat in a serving of two to three cups.
4. Thin Wheat Crackers, Hummus, and Tomatoes
Hummus is a delicious, creamy spread made from chickpeas, sesame tahini, and garlic. It has a nice combination of flavors and nutrients. For a snack, spread one tablespoon of hummus evenly over 12 thin, high-fiber crackers. Serve the crackers with two slices of firm red tomato for an extra vitamin boost — tomatoes are high in vitamin C.
5. Mini Crackers and Veggies
Select a great-tasting, low-calorie baked snack cracker when your energy (or blood sugar) levels dip — one ounce (about 25 small crackers) makes an ideal snack. You can increase your cracker options by trying a variety of flavors and shapes — for instance, pick one made from real cheese. Crackers complement any fat-free, low-calorie veggie. They taste delicious, for example, with a one-cup serving of cool, crisp cucumber slices.
6. Peppers and Low-Fat Garden Dip
You can really indulge with this one! Slice one cup of sweet-tasting yellow, red, and green bell peppers into strips for a crunchy, vitamin-packed snack. Dunk them in a quarter cup of a creamy, low-fat garden vegetable dip to complete your treat. You can buy a ready-made dip or make your own by mixing a prepackaged blend of seasonings with low-fat sour cream or low-fat cottage cheese. Anyway you slice it, you'll enjoy the satisfying flavors in this snack.
7. Nonfat Fruit-Flavored Yogurt
A one-cup container of sugar-free, fruit-flavored yogurt is a nearly perfect snack — it's a sweet treat that is also nourishing. Yogurt provides a balanced intake of protein, carbohydrates, and fat, while the fruit adds vitamin C and fiber to your diet. A serving of yogurt can also provide 30 percent of your daily calcium needs, and the live-active cultures it contains aid the absorption of calcium and also help keep your digestive system healthy. Do you need any more reasons to enjoy this snack?
8. Frozen Juice Bars
Cool your cravings with a sugar-free frozen fruit pop. This refreshing snack is perfect on a hot afternoon — or anytime, really! It's fat-free and low in sodium. Try a variety of fruit flavors to mix it up for your taste buds, and look for juice bars that have 70 calories or fewer. Or make your own pops by freezing six ounces of unsweetened juice in Popsicle containers; then add your own Popsicle sticks.
9. Peanut Butter and Jelly on a Whole-Grain English Muffin
Spread a tablespoon of heart-healthy nonhydrogenated peanut butter on half of a high-fiber, whole-grain English muffin and voilà! — you have a wholesome, nourishing snack. Top it off with a tablespoon of sugar-free jelly and then delight in the sweetness of a PB&J that is not only satisfying but truly good for you.
10. Cantaloupe and Cottage Cheese
Low-fat cottage cheese enhances the natural sweetness of cantaloupe in this snack. Slice half a melon into thirds and top with two tablespoons of low-fat cottage cheese. The melon is a good source of vitamins A and C and folate, and the low-fat cottage cheese adds calcium to the snack. Add a sprig of mint for color and added flavor — you'll be pleasantly surprised.
11. Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
Strawberries are fat-free and rich in vitamin C, and their natural sweetness when they're ripe makes this snack taste rich and decadent. Dip them in dark chocolate (it has the least added sugar) to create a thin coating — this added dimension of flavor will have you savoring each bite. Two medium to large strawberries is all you need for a snack, so don't go overboard!
12. Sugar-Free Gelatin With Fat-Free Whipped Cream
A sparkling, fruit-flavored gelatin (go with a half cup) topped with whipped cream is refreshing and pleasantly satisfying. You can make this snack completely guilt-free by choosing a sugar-free or fat-free gelatin. Top it with two tablespoons of fat-free, sugar-free whipped topping to add some sweetness. Again, be sure to try a range of gelatin flavors so your snack time will never be boring.
13. Frozen Yogurt
Enjoy this cool, creamy, low-cal snack anytime — just be sure to buy a frozen yogurt that is fat-free and sugar-free, and remember that a snack portion is a half cup. To add variety, try different flavors and feel free to top the frozen yogurt with a few small berries or a teaspoon of chopped nuts — this will add even more flavor and texture.

Happy Easter Weekend Everybody;
When I got up my sugar was153 I ate leftovers for breakfast from night before last the chicken Primavera
2 hours later it was only 108 Not bad but I had stirfry Veggies in it so that brought down the numbers.
I had water to drink this morning. Yes my 32oz. glass.
I skipped lunch today as I was not hungry and got myself a glass 32oz size of pink lemonade. and was on the Computer most of the afternoon.
before Supper tonight sugar was 145 I made shell macaroni with brown gravy no lumps for a change. LOL
with french green beans and beef steak small pieces for us. got a phone call while cooking and over cooked the meat again. Need to let the phone go to answering machine from now on when cooking so as not to end up with shoe leather for meat. LOL 2 hours after Supper sugar was 151 only went up 6 points. Not bad.
I walked around the front half of the Trailer Park and it took me about 25 mins. to get it done.So my steps for today are as follows:
Steps: 4801
Those calories are only for the walking I don't know how many I burned carrying patio blocks (stepping stones) from the back of the trailer to the storage shed at the end of the Trailer on the front side I made 3 trips to carry 6 of them and then one trip to carry two of them back Bill carried two of them also as we broke one while jacking up the shed to level it back out so the doors opened and closed easier. As I said one broke and the last one we used to level up the shed on the one corner. Tomorrow I am going to see how many steps it is to walk around our Trailer and how far that is then use it on the days I hurt to much to walk around the Trailer Park to still get my exercise. I am also going to pull weeds out of my flower beds so as the tulips can grow better this year and trim my roses so they do better also. If we get the outside of the Trailer done this year then next year I am going to plant me some more roses and other flowers in my flower beds and around my decks to make them more beautiful.
Well that is all for tonight so Good night and have a very Happy Easter Tomorrow.

That is what I have been doing for exercise of late. We have our own garden, and we are also part of a community garden that we have been doing. I have done a lot outside, and I like getting my exercise that way. Unfortunately, I have not been good on my routine. But I hope to get on track, I start a TCOYD nutrition class next week. I go in today for my prescreening so I will be starting a discussion on the things that I learn there.

Saturday - April 11 Morning blood sugar 111
Hope everyone is doing well with their meal planning now that Easter Sunday is approaching. I don't do holiday dinners much so we won't be 'dining out or in with a crowd' so my day will be the same as always.
Today I went out to get started on my flower beds and trimmed some bushes, (it looks like we might actually get spring in Wisconsin lol) so that's my exercise for today. A solid hour or two of pulling and raking and a manual sheers to trim the bushes. (and yes I had a low in the middle 51 and shaking… sigh)
I won't put my food down because with my lows I've been eating more often and more food so I don't want anyone new thinking they can eat like I do to manage Diabetes.
I did manage to lose 2 lbs this week though. Even with all the food I've had to consume. Yay!!!

Judy have you ever tried to make up snack bags to carry with you while working out in the yard and snack while working. I carry something with me lots of days for my walks as my numbers drop while exercising. I have so much trouble when exercising that I don't like to exercise at all but my Dr. says I got to so back to the drawing board till I find what will stop the drops and shakes while doing it. LOL If there is anything I can do to help let me know.

No exercise to report except getting out of bed and onto the couch for the last 3 days - wicked cold/cough/headache/sore throat. BS was 157 this AM before breakfast…not surprised as I have been eating pretty much whatever I can actually stomach. Just found out my A1C was 7.5 - anyone know what this means? Thanks!!

This shows how our Blood Sugar levels are for the past 3 months. the lower the number the better. My last one was over 9 again. So yours is not good but not real bad either. When you are feeling better and are able to eat better and exercise again your A1C will come down again.
Hope your feeling better soon.

Well after getting off the Lyrica the weight is coming back off. Plus hitting the curves gym is paying off too. One week after going to the gym but only working out 4 times and I have dropped 6 lbs in one week. Yay!!! for me. The only bad thing is I just went out and spent a bunch of money on new clothes and they seriously are falling on the ground now. I don't get it though. 6 pounds and they are hitting the floor. I just wish I could figure out what is causing my legs and arms to constantly hurt to the point to where I feel like crying all the time. Feels like bad flu body aches. My Dr. ordered blood tests, but that seems like that is all that ever happens.

Edie 2009-04-09 21:06:46 -0500 Report

try soaking in a tub of Epsom Salts water for about 15 mins only at a time then follow it with a warm shower. Afterward rub some lotion into your body that helps too. When I hurt all over this is what I do for atleast 3 days and by the 3rd day the pain is gone.

Thanks Edie, I will try this. I wonder if it could be arthritis? My Dr. said diabetics do get it early in life compared to non diabetics. Plus most of my family has it. Except they got it as a child. I always thought I could weight 150 pounds and feel great and now I find I should weight between 110-140 pounds only. Got my work cut out for me. We can do this together if you want.

2009-04-09 12:01:21 -0500 Report

Hi there,
I have been having trouble with lows again so I haven't been exercising and have been eating things just to stay upright.. I'm sooo sick of this (been 45 years of lows… sigh) My story of Tuesday. I was starving at work and couldn't find anything to eat but a donut and some cookies. I had a 'who gives a s***' attitude moment and ate the donut and cookies, felt better and moved on. When I got home an hour later, my blood sugar was 256.. expected because I ate the sweets… well we went to the eye doctor for my son's appt, and then went to dinner. I tested before dinner at it was still 175 and I still had the 'who gives a s***' attitude so I had eggs benedict that came with hashbrowns and an english muffin.. I ate it all. We went to one more store after we ate and I walked around quickly as they were closing soon for 5 minutes. Drove home about 3 miles, went upstairs to change my clothes and started shaking!! I made my way down the stairs and by this time my knees and legs are also shaking and checked my blood sugar and it was 62!!!! This was an hour and a half after I ate dinner with a beginning blood sugar of 175! The story of my life and getting old let me tell you. I've had to stop swimming because of this as I've been losing 100 points in a half hour there. I don't know what to do anymore. I see the doctor next week and believe me we'll discuss AGAIN!!!. I have a team of doctors that have been trying to figure this out for years and can't. I have an A1C done every 6 weeks and it can fluctate from 5.0 to 10.0 and anywhere in between… sigh I know if I stay away from sugar it's not so bad.. really sucks being human and having a sweet tooth some times. done venting…

I just commited to curves gym and have been working out in hope of getting my blood sugar numbers down. They have been 240-340 but instead after working out it was 485. Errr so disgusted. I eat right exercise and still have this problem. And am so ill everybody at home hates me. Well except my little one. If I could I would smack myself and leave. LOL I have been hurting so bad in my legs and arms for a month now and that does not help. I had that awful head cold and the body aches stayed. My Dr. appt. is Thurs and I can't wait, something has to be done.

Edie 2009-04-08 12:43:02 -0500 Report

Check out the numbers before you start working out and then just after your done check them again. It may take awhile for the numbers to start to come down as sometimes our bodies need to adjust to how it feels with anything new that we do to it. Just keep an exercise journal and write each exercise you've done and how your body reacts to it. Also don't stress out about it as that also can cause the numbers to go up. And Drink Lots Of Water before, during, and after your done.
Good Luck with your new Exercise Routine.

Sunday April 5th. - Well today I woke up with a 107 which wasn't too bad so I had some coffee and read the paper and decided that I was extremely hungry for pancakes. Not a good thing for Judy ,makes the old sugars rise bad but I made my homemade buttermilk pancakes anyway but I used half whole wheat flour today. They were wonderful!!! I do buy sugar free syrup Log Cabin made with Splenda.. that's the only thing I consume with splenda in it.. I had some cheese with my pancakes too. So I'm doing a little housework, nothing major, cut and colored my hair etc… and 3 hours after the pancakes I tested just to see where I was at.. 101!!! what? I expected 200… I finally made them right and ate just the right amount and they didn't send me sky high!! yay!!! Anyway, I was bad for supper too, we ordered pizza… I only had 3 slices of vegetarian pizza on thin crust with a nice salad so it shouldn't be too bad. I haven't tested yet but I will at bedtime. So that's my day.. didn't eat meals and snacks like I should have, snacked through out the day.. An apple here, crackers and cheese there, busy day so didn't take the time to sit down and eat properly… oh well tomorrow is another day.

I just want to say thanks everyone for joining in. Edie and I have had this kind of post since last year, and it was getting very slim (unlike us!)
It is great to see so many of you joining us and helping us stay motivated.

Today was so weird for me. I started really high 201 early this morning, I had 2 low carb wraps with tuna for breakfast and before lunch I was 160.
Then after working hours in the garden, raking, planting, digging, and so on...I had a 181 before dinner.
I was very bad for dinner. I had chinese for dinner and it was more than I should have. But man it tasted good. I rarely eat it anymore, because I can't skip the fried rice. We will see what the morning holds for me.

Ok I'm back on track (I hope). I actually checked my sugars today…and I was plesantly surprised.

I had the day off today so it was easier for me…got up with a bg of 134…yuck…had breakfast of 2 pancakes with s/f syrup and an egg fried…2 hours later my bg was 97. Lunch was a bologna sandwich with a pickle…two hours later it my bg was 110. Before dinner I was 87. Had homeade tacos tonight with corn tortillas. 2 hours after dinner my bg was 81. I didn't take any insulin with dinner tonight, for some reason mexican doesn't make me go up at all. Took my 40 untils of Lantus at 8pm like I do everynight.

Excercise today was good…took my daughter to the park for a couple of hours (first nice day we have had here in what seems like FOREVER). My uncle was in town today and my family met us at the park and my daughter and nephew had a chance to play. The park I took her to is on a lake so we all walked around the lake after they kids played. It was a great day, and I have no idea how much I walked because it was so much fun to hang out with family. That is why we moved back here…lol.

Have a great day all…oh and thanks again for this post Edie…it's getting me back on track.

Blessed Be

OK first I'm going to apolige for not having my step numbers as at 6 PM when I was checking to see how many steps I had taken so far the battery was out part way and I had lost the 5,000+ steps I had taken by 4PM. I did the laundry today and as it is by the bedroom and I was up front and in the living room I had alot of steps in getting it done and walking back and forth doing it and cooking also today. I learned I can't wear the counter on my leg next to the skin as the batter area sticks to the skin and when I lift it it pulls out the battery.
Now on to my BG levels for today.103 When I got up this morning. I had a bowl of oatmeal and 3 slices of French toast with scrambled eggs. For my morning snack I had 2 cups of popcorn and from now on I stick to the light popcorn as the butter sends my BG up to much it was 249 before lunch I had the last of my tuna, onion and mushroom salad with Miracule Whip and at supper time it was 115 I fixed a nice marinaded steak for us I could only eat half of mine so I gave the rest to Gerry our Son that is staying with us for now. I also fixed Mashed potatoes and Mixed Veg. with margirine
To drink today I had 2 glasses of Lemonade and 1 of Pink Lemonade. I bought Bill some Cherry Lemonade as I won't drink it on him LOL I can't stand Cherries of any kind. At 8:22 my sugar was 180 Not as bad as earlier but not good either. So I will try harder tomorrow.
Have a good Night everyone and enjoy tomorrow even if it is raining like were going to be getting they say. I love to walk in the Rain and feel completely refreshed as a result of it.

Hi everyone - thanks for the invite - I really learn a lot from your posts on here - especially when it comes to "numbers". I was 161 when I woke up this morning and have been averaging about 145-150 but my doc said it will take about 6 weeks to figure out the food/glucose thing as well as for the meds (Glucophage) to help regulate me. I have been doing the WiiFit, but we have all been sick here so I haven't done it in about a week - will jump back on this afternoon..
Had a tuna on high fiber whole grain bread for lunch with a leftover egg roll and a pickle for lunch…some fresh brewed iced tea…191 2 hours after lunch - evil egg rolls!!! Now I know not to do that anymore!! Must have been the duck sauce! Who knew I was so sensitive to that stuff? Sigh. Okay onto a better dinner and some exercise…not the end of the world, right guys??? Right? Guys…????

Did you make your own Egg Rolls or store bought. I make my own and my numbers stay low with them. I love the cabbage red and green with onions, green peppers, rice, bamboo shoots water chestnuts and hamburger roll about a half a cup into the eggroll skins and fry in Olive oil or peanut oil in a wok it keeps the oil low and they cook so much better than in a reg fry pan.

I love those from the Chinese Resturants and I love the ones I make better as I know what I put in them and then I also sometimes put in the real small shrimp or chopped pork and chicken also.
This Month I am going to use steak strips instead of the Hamburger. I still have 2 pkgs. of the egg roll skins in the bottom of the frig I haven't opened yet.

Good Morning Everyone;
I have been trying to figure out why my sugar was so high before Supper last night and I finally figured it out. My Son Billy gave me some Microwave popcorn and I fixed one bag and poured into my pail I use to keep it in to measure it out and when I was opening it this morning for my AM snack I realized it has lots of butter on it. I have been getting the light popcorn myself and that is what went wrong. I got 3 more bags of it and will give it all to Gerry to eat and get my light bags popped up so as not to go over again today. I just love any kind of Popcorn and Now I Know I can't have the Gourmet Butter ones any longer. I can still have the Cheese ones though. LOL
I have my step counter on again today and find that even though Gabby says they don't count all of our steps it helps to keep me moving to get a higher number so it is a big help anyway to me Gabby. I find putting it on my left ankle I do get a good count with it. As long as I don't tap my feet while sitting. Will give yas the down load tonight of how the day went. Started off Bad Bill woke me up at 6 AM then sat in his recliner and went back to sleep. I woke him up and he told me to go back to bed as that is the only way I was going to leave him alone. I told him not to wake me on Sat. and Sun. any more and I would let him sleep in his chair again. He says GO BACK TO BED I'M NOT STOPPING YOU! So I came in here and got on the Computer instead.

I decided to answer all posts as best as I can so from now on you will see an answer on here for each post that you add here. I hope this helps everyone out now and in the future.

Also once Bill goes back to work he said I can travel so if I am not on here it is because I have left home and am in transit to some where. I hope to have a laptop to take with me to stay in touch here but if I don't I will post as often as I can. Love yas all.

I worked all day at home today and had a salad for lunch that was weird but tasted really really good LOL I had some broccoli slaw in the fridge so I added black beans, some cooked dreamfields macaroni, a shredded carrot, an chopped onion and then I used a few tbsp of a new yogurt dressing I found. I wanted to finish off the 1000 island so I added it to my salad… mmm it was good! Had a can of Natural Cola Zevia too..
Snack this afternoon was popcorn and finished my Zevia. Before dinner my blood sugar was 115 and we went out for chinese and I alway splurge there. I had a veggie eggroll and veggie egg fu yung with just a tad of rice. It was nummy and my bedtime blood sugar is 120.. hmmm not bad seeing as we didn't eat until almost 9:00pm (flat tire on the way there.. )

So I did ok today, didn't get much exercise except walking in the store tonight. Having an awful day with itchy ears so I hope I don't have an infection going on there… shaking head.. can't do any more antibiotics for awhile so lets hope not!!!

Then around 1:30 after eating about 11:30 which was a sandwich of tuna, onion, and mushrooms it was 156 and I took 4units of Humalog
before Supper it was 266 so I took my Byetta again and this time I took 24units of Humalog for my BG level and the Carbs I was eating for Supper which was one half of a pork steak Bill overcooked it LOL and pasta and sauce with peas and carrots then about 8 it was 108 now that is what I call good.
now for my step counter I remembered to wear it today.
Steps: 6404
Miles: 2.627
Calories: 172.9
Not bad for today and the extra calories for some other acttivites I don't know how much they were but going to get into my tools and get the web page up and save it to my bookmarks for future ref. so as to know how many calories I really am burning.
I didn't get out there for my evening walk but I did go for a walk by my Son Billy's place to visit a friend that lives near him. I parked at his trailer and then walked down to her trailer and back. I did good this time. LOL

I have gotten lazy lately. I don't think I have checked my sugars in about 2 days or so…I still take my insulin, but I have no idea where my numbers sit.

Ok so I just went and checked my sugar level…I'm at 112…ok not bad for not having checked it for a couple of days.

I have been working 10 1/2 to 12 hour shifts the past couple of weeks and I take my own food. I have gotten really bad about it. I'll pack my lunch after dinner and them I'm not hungry so I pack very little, then when it comes to lunch the next day I'm starving. I have even had to take some glucose tabs because I didn't pack enough lunch and I've dropped. Not a good thing considering I'm a home health aide and mostly work with hospice patients…thats just what I need…a family memeber to come over and find me passed out and their parent sitting there in udder confusion…HMMM ok so I think I just gave myself a very important reason to start checking my sugars and pack a better lunch…see this post is great…even for those of us that just need to sound out our own problems…

Thanks to Edie and Gabby…!!!!

Wow, I like this! I only check my numbers maybe once every 3 days, instead of 3 times a day. I need to get back to my routine. It helps keep me in check. For the first time in over a year, I've gained 10 of the 30 pounds I lost. I don't like how my body feels. Family stress and eating at night is what caused it. I love sweets, so looking at all the Easter candy is driving me crazy.

Ok, so 148 this morning!!!!!!!!!!! I'm supposed to be under 120. Too many cookies! I'm going thru this phase where I do not get hungry until about 3 in the afternoon. Don't eat anything until then and then load up. Bad pattern and I need to break it.

You are all an inspiration to me.

Before lunch, blood sugar at 89. Had a small salad and a dish I call "whateva" LOL it's whole grain penne pasta with spicy tomato sauce and "whateva" else you want to add to it.. LOL I had broccoli, white beans, onions, and celery today. Yogurt with blueberries too, I get the organic plain lowfat yogurt and add my own 1/2 cup of blueberries, some truvia, and a dash of vanilla… best fruit yogurt on the planet..

Supper- numbers before - 69 (oops forgot my snack this afternoon)…My son made lasagna with homemade noodles today, no meat just lots of sauces mixed in and parm cheese. We don't make lasagna the traditional American way with the big gobs of cheese in the middle. LOL . I had a little extra because my numbers were so low. (any excuse for this girl)

Walked at lunch today for 30 min and enjoyed the 3 rays of sunshine that poked through.

I'm sure my food choices are different than most as I'm a vegetarian and trying to control carbs. Not easy but not too tough either..

That's my day, pretty typical for me and now as the day draws to a close, I want ice cream LOL shall I do it or shall I behave.. hmmmm that is the question!!!

you go girl enjoy that Icecream I can't have very much of it as my numbers always go up.
I put on my step counter today and will have all the numbers that I didn't have yesterday for all to see tonight.
I wish my numbers were like yours Judy but so far not that lucky.
Talk to you later and have a great day.

I didn't have the ice cream or any other snack before bed (I forgot) and my morning blood sugar today was 128!! Darn it, I have to remember to eat that snack before bed EVERY DAY!. But if I'm not hungry and get busy with something else I forget.

I need to get some more Sorbet in the house as I like it better than the Icecream as my numbers stay down with it. LOL I love the orange one better but am trying different ones to add to the orange for a variatey of flavors. Your Numbers are still good though so don't worry to much if not down where you want them every day OK.

Don't feel left out … I fell asleep on the sofa and this morning 139! That snack at night REALLY does the trick.
