GI food index

Here is a good site on Glycemic Index & Diabetes. How to understand about good carbs, the low GI foods. it is with the American Diabetes Association.
Carbs are still carbs, however choosing the right carbs will help and learning about them. I was surprised to find some of my favorite fruits are hi GI and have to be treated only rarely now.

Yes I agree a very good reference sight. I did a lot of investigating after I was diagnosed with serval medical problems. I just did it to see what was save for me to eat and drink. I found out some foods cross reference each other. Then there was those eat this on one and another it would be on the do not eat list. So if I could live on water I would be fine. What I done is try to figure out what works for me that's healthy enough to keep me going. I've done pretty good and have lost weight and inches. You just got to figure out what is right for you.

I agree that learning as much as we can about food, and then testing BG to see how different foods affect you individually, is a great way to manage diabetes and reach your goals. ~Lynn @Glucerna
