I am a t 1 20 years and wondering if any other type 1 had a hard time conceiving ? I've been trying for two years now no birth control and I feel hopeless.

Personally speaking from experience, it definitely won't happen if you're constantly thinking about it. We're on the same boat with this subject! Haha. I keep getting told that if I want it to happen so much, then it won't. I definitely believe that now!

I am pretty sure that diabetes by itself doesn't cause complications in getting pregnant. There are many other factors that could make it more difficult though so you should talk with your doctor to see if they can help.

I have had type 1 diabetes for 17 years and have had 2 children without many complications during the pregnancies. So it is definitely possible :)

Hi Christie! Take a look at the discussion Gabby just posted about an amazing Type 1 who had 2 successful pregnancies…it may be inspiring. http://diabeteshealth.com/read/2014/07/03/830...
Although I've had diabetes for 38 years, I have no children but never really tried to get pregnant…I've heard that the stress of "trying" can sabotage those efforts. Wishing you well!

There could be other factors at play. Have you spoken to your doctor about your desires? Like jaybee52 said, sometimes the things you want come when you are not looking so hard.

Howdy Christy

Sometimes focusing on a desired outcome can have what seems to be a less than desired effect. The way I see it, sex between a man and woman is to be enjoyed. Enjoy it and let that be your main goal. The rest will take care of itself.

I have a son and DIL who are trying to conceive (my 1st grand child) and this is the advice I give them as well.

God's best to you and yours

Why try so hard when your so young ?
I know some T1's that didn't have any trouble having kids.
Good luck
