Just wondering if the ONLY reason your doctor has you on Lisinopril is because of high blood pressure of because of your Dibeties? I use to take it when I had high blood pressure but now I don't have that problem so I no longer take it but wonder if I should be for my Dibeties, I keep hearing many talk of it being used for such. Any thoughts? Thank everyone! Sheila

See this is weird, I was diagnoised with high blood pressure but when I went to see him he did not keep me on it, nor my diabeties med for that matter, anyhow…got my diabeties med straight but my blood pressure has been great, so okay cool. Now, I have been hearing on here so many on it for their Diabeties..why didn't he just leave me on it? I know you all are not him, I am just trying to find logic maybe so when I see him…I think next week it is I will be fully prepared to questioned him about it finally. Make sense? Thanks for your thoughts though everyone! Sheila

The one thing I know for sure is that there is no logic in dealing with diabetes. What works for one, won't work for all. It is so complicated. Perhaps your doctor is unaware, or he doesn't want to over medicate you (thank goodness for that!) Ask him, voice your concerns and see if you need it. I was told "All diabetics" need to take it. No such blanket statement should ever be used. It interacts with a lot of insulins, so maybe that is why he doesn't have you on it.

LISINOPRIL WILL HELP KEEP THE BLOOD FLOWING IN A SOFTER AREA. THAT KEEPS ARTERIES CLEANER SO THAT THE BLOOD WILL CARRY FOOD TO THE AREAS THAT ARE IN NEED. LIKE THE KIDNEYS, CLEAN ARTERIES MEAN A BETTER LIFE FOR ALL OF US.. THATS THE GOOD SIDE AFFECT…

Im on low dose version of this pril. The pril family of meds are known to have side effects that are supposed to be good for us. or that is what I was told. Guess we have to trust the opionions of those we put our trust into. I take it too.

I am not into over medicating, so when the doctor told me I had to take it I questioned it, my blood pressure is fine. So she told me that it was to protect my kidneys, just like Splender. So I agreed. I will see if it really helps by my next lab work up and then ask more questions about the meds I'm on if they are working.

I've been taking Lisinapril for a long time now for my Kidneys. I was told by my Doctor that we have to keep everything working as well as possible since we have Diabetes. The next time you go to see your Doctor talk to him/her about this o.k.?
