I looked at the site last night and didn't find any answers other than stuff to buy so went Googling, and finally found some answers. But before Ic ame to information about the Blood type diet there were several criticisms from "reliable sources" about the diets. As a nutritionist who belives in the science I'll stick to what I've found that works.

This site is lucky to have you here. It is great to have someone to answer questions for us about diet and nutrition and has the education to help us.

The person who helped me the most to keep my diabetes under control was a Nutritionist such as yourself. Of course, my doctor also helped, but it was the information about diet and nutrition that was so very valuable.

Thanks for your input and I really mean that.

For all of you 'naysayers' out there — take a look at the website and you will see that it really is a healthy diet to follow your blood type. And Suzanne, if you are going to use French terms, please learn to spell them correctly! au contraire!!

Everyone has a right to their own opinion so I thank you for yours. Just for your information my name is spelled Susanne if it was french then it would be spelled with a (z). Have a nice day!!!

Hello Everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a web site dedicated to this diet theory?

I have heard of it before but have never read a thing about it. I would like to check it out online if possible.

Of course, we ALL know that there are tons of junk diets out there. We are all human and crave the quick fix for our weight gain. The majority of us know a large percentage of the diets out there are of the "junk" variety.

One of the junkiest ones out there is called "The Cabbage Soup Diet." I have a diabetic friend who had tried almost every diet one can imagine, the junk ones and the doctor/dietician recommended ones. She just could not lose and stay on the diets because she just didn't like the foods. She went on this "Cabbage Soup Diet" because she liked the food it listed and she lost 157 pounds in two years. It worked for her and for the last 6 years, she has kept the weight off.

At first her doctor did not want her to do it, but he realized that it was working for her and she followed it exactly,,staying on it for the alloted time and going back to a regular diet for a "resting" week. She took vitamins as a supplement prescribed by her doctor.

She is Type 2 diabetic. When she started the diet she was on insulin, two oral diabetic meds, blood pressure meds, and 6 other meds for other ailments brought on by her diabetes.

Now she is 121 pounds and takes no diabetes meds at all and controlls her diabetes with strictly a low carb diet.

Being so much over weight was killing her and she fixed it.

None of us are stupid enough to think that this would work for everyone. We even know this type of diet would even be dangerous for many.

This is just HER success story and REMEMBER…as the *old wives say*…

I have to agree with other who place this diet in the category of "junk diets." However, any diet plan that focusses on eating less manufactured foods and concentrates on selecting wholesome foods in moderate portions, no matter what our blood type is, is better than nothing.

I agree with you Pauline, "junk diets" and "fad diets" are just that, they come they go but the one constant is NOT eating chemically altered or enhanced foods and stick to the basics…with the occasional chocolate tossed in now and again.

I researched this so called diet and from my experience it's another one in a long list of 'junk' diets. If we all ate real food and less of it and moved our bodies more we wouldn't have to be on a 'diet' in the first place. If this is something that is working for you that's great but personally, I think that all the so called 'diets' should be filed under "G"…

No offense just seems like a lot of hog wash to me.

SusanneLynn 2009-03-17 11:56:32 -0500 Report

Oh on contrare you do eat good foods on this diet you must not be a diet person because for my blood type I should eat grean leafy veggies and certain fruit so I just think in my opinion its just not something for you Take Care and thanks for your input
