Does anyone know anything about Fifth Disease? My son just got diagnosed with it and sent home from school. I googled it and found some information and know that he will have a rash and fever. What I am worried about is myself, I have been under tremendous stress lately and am sure to pick up anything that comes arround. I can't find much info about getting it as an adult. I can't say that I actually have it(I don't have the rash) but wondered if anyone had any further information.
—Thank you—

I don't know if you ran across the CDC webpage about Fifth Disease so I thought I would share it with you. From what I read on their page, if you son already has the rash, he is no longer contagious, as he would be if he had measles or the likes. It also talks about the effects on adults, but does not give the percentage or likeliness of whether an adult can catch it. I should also mention they list several illnesses an adult may have that can worsen the virus, but diabetes is not on the list. Here is the URL

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/revb/respirato...

I hope this helps some,

Great website. Thank you so very much for the info. That was a lot more specific than anything else I had been able to find… You would think the CDC would come up first thing on the list when "googeling" and like Google I didn't even think of the CDC.
