What is the difference between Type1 and Type2 Diabetes?
I was diagnosed with type2 diabetes in 2004 and stayed controoled with diet only. In December 2008 I developed Pancreatitis and had a heartattack. My blood sugars went way too high and now I am on two different insulins daily. Does this mean I now have Type1 diabetes?

Type 1 is diagnosed by doing certain blood tests to see if the pancreas is still working.
Taking insulin does not mean you are Type 1. Many Type 2 diabetics use an insulin regimen to control their diabetes. My best advice to you is to ask your doctor what type they consider you to be so that you can become well informed on your diagnosis and what you can do to control it.
