The condition is called gustatory hyperhidrosis aka gustatory sweating. Reasons for gustatory sweating include medical causes such as nerve damage from diabetes due to uncontrolled blood sugar levels.

Any person who has graduated from medical school would know why patients sweat when they eat if they are diabetic.

Don't believe any of you went to an MD who didn't know about gustatory hyperhidrosis. If you did, find another physician!

First of all you didn't ask if anyone had heard of it. Did something happen to you? Did your doctor not know. The way you wrote this gives me the impression that something happened and you are taking it out on us.

The reason behind this post was probably to educate us all in case anyone else has ever had this feeling. No need to attack people because of the way they worded the post. You sure get a lot of "impressions".

Wow you are so funny. You don't like what I say and obviously you always feel the need to try to start a fight with me. Why don't you grow up? I am not going to stoop to your level. So in the future if you need to argue or want to start one, look in the mirror and you will find someone who is of the same intelligence as you to pick your fight with. Thanks for entertaining me. I will be laughing at you all day.

This happened to me a lot in the 1970s on my high glycemic diet. The VA doctors all told me it was no doubt a warm room or spicy food causing it. It was often salty but unspicy fast food in an air conditioned restaurant. It hasn't happened since changing my diet even with spicy vegetables eaten in much warmer environments.

I have sweated for years when I eat come to think of it I don't sweat anymore when I eat I need to ask my endo about that it's not listed anywhere as a symptom that would be an early warning sign to look for I never knew they were related just thought it was the spicy foods I used to eat hmmm very interesting
