I do various excercises, swimming, walking to grocery store then walking back - that kils two birds with one stone. Yes those bags become heavy and my back hurts, but no pain no gain. Peddling with my little peddle, push ups with my back to the chair and pushing down, on my back and doing set ups and bcycling. I still need to lift weights.

I try to walk about 50 minutes everyday. On off days I enjoy the fitness programs on my Wii. Lifting heavy cans in our church pantry gives me some strength exercise. However I admit to the occasional sit on the couch day with a good book day just try to make it the rare occasion.

I exercise daily if I can, mostly 5 days a week, walking 3 miles at the present trying to get my pace down to an hour. Dieting as well, nothing white including yellow and white onions. I started this in mid June and I've dropped 35lbs so far. My numbers look great, A1c adverage is 5.6.

I exercise 5-6 times a week. My routine involves strength training, core and cardio.I do enjoy it and there is a great social benefit. Chat with friends and do something healthy also.

It's the first day of the rest of my life … Hugo (my dog) and I walked a mile today. I am planning on doing it every day - we both can use the exercise. I may have to look into Water Arobics. I really loved doing it when I was pregnant. How time flies - he is 11 now!

I am back to walking now that it is nice out for the most part. I have started with a mile a day and now I am up to a mile and a half. For a year or so I was really quite weak and unable to walk much, that was just after I was diagnosed as t1. Now I am stronger.

Thanx. For Disneyland I am sure I will have to be up to 15 miles before I go. But at least I know I can have some rest time there as well.

I have found a new method of exercising that is showing great results with my numbers. I do this three times a week. I do wind sprints. I run as fast as I can for 20 seconds and them walk for 4 minutes. I do 4 sets like this. I have gotten my average down from 110 to 90 and occasionally I get into the upper 80's.

I tried your routine yesterday on the treadmill at the gym. Let me tell you it was grusome. After awhile I was able to increase my running speed. I was exhausted when finished but felt GREAT. Thank you so much, I will do it regularly. Pete

Right now I am walking 30 minutes in the morning while I also do upper body resistance. I use a couple of cans from the pantry and do 4 sets of 5 different types of movements to help with my flabby arms...yuck! I do this at least 5 times a week. Right now, I have gotten to where I can do my sets in 20 minutes, and am working into adding 1 more set, and then eventually 2 more.

I also, though I am not as consistant, am adding walking to my evening routine. I call it my Jeapordy walk. I do stretches and wallking during Jeapordy and use it as my timer. The game distracts me from getting bored.

I want to add things like swimming, but right now, a gym membership is out of the question. So I just to do the free stuff. LOL

I hate to admit it but I do nothing! :( I do jog up my stairs a couple of times a day, but that doesn't count? I worked out a lot before I was diagnosed but just haven't had the energy. I am getting back to normal and vow to get myself back in shape for summer. I like to work with light weights. This is my New Years Resolution, starting March 01, 2009! :) Angie

I am starting back to physical theapy in the sometimes in the middle of March. My mother don't drive in snow so for a couple months I was just doing what I could do at home. I think by the first of April, I am suppose to do water aquatics, so I can get my muscles moving more. I hope by summer I can walk on my own with my cane by myself. I miss having excise in my life these past 2 years, but want to start and get up and going real soon…Debe

I swim and walk for exercise. I swim several times a week and I try to walk, even if in the house every day. Exercise is the key to controlling Diabetes whether Type 1 or Type 2 :)
