I went to the doctors this morning for my post op check up. The doctor removed the stitch. I thought it was several. He had to numb me to do that. The Pathology report was in. He said the gland and stone he removed were cancer free. I refrained from doing the Snoopy Dance in his office.

I came home and cried tears of joy. The downside is that my tongue is still partially paralyzed and I have trouble swallowing some solid foods. I am determined to eat a steamed crab on the 4th of July. I also talk really funny and some people cannot understand me on the phone. The doctor assured me that the tongue will heal, that the pain in my right ear that comes and goes will stop and my eye will stop running. All of this is based on the healing of the nerve.

He told me that had I not gone to the ER when I did, that my illness would have been much worse. He said it was bordered on the worse it could get when he saw me which is why he wanted to do the surgery as soon as possible. His office got the insurance to cover the surgery immediately because the infection was beginning to spread.

I am not a very religious person but I do count every blessing I get and my prayers were answered. Thank you friends for your prayers, thoughts, and support.

Thanks Lou. Now I can continue misbehaving and driving my friends and family crazy. They got bored with my good behavior…LOL

I've found that one of the joys of growing older is that I'm more comfortable being and expressing myself and less concerned about what others may think!

So do I. I never worry about what people think or care very little if their feelings are hurt. They just have to get over it.
