I have officially joined the pumpers club today. Have had the pump a week sitting their waiting for training. What a loooooonnnnngggg week it was.

It sure was nice to test, enter amount of carbs, hit a button. DONE! I have seen my husband use his pump for as long as i have known him and thought wow, i would never be able to understand how to do that.

I am a little overwhelmed with all the info i just took in, but thank goodness for my honey who is on the same pump. :-)

Welcome to the club! It takes a while to get the pump settings just right and, the beauty is, that you can change them if there are changes in your metabolism. I love being able to either decrease the basal levels, particularly if I'm exercising, or increase them to counteract an unexpected high BG. I've been diabetic for 38 years but only started pumping in 2011. I hope I never have to return to MDI!

Thanx. First nite went great. Bedtime was 85 at 230 101, @ 830 i was 99. I have enjoyed testing, entering carbs, press a button and insulin delivered.

My endo is awesome too she even got insurance company to pay for the Bayer test stops at 250 strips a month it's nice when you find great doctors and use products with great support staff to back product

My Dr is the one my husband found for himself b4 i was dx. She's the first one he hasn't threatened harm to like the others he has come across. He's been on a pump since 1981 so it was hard to find a Dr on west coast who understood them or would lecture him like a little kid. She's a team player.

That's awesome about your Dr and the strips
