I wish we had a "Prayer Request" page where we could put all our prayer requests, rather than start a discussion. Since we don't, I wanted to let you all know that Angie's dad (ARUDEE's dad) will be having heart surgery in Alabama on Monday morning. She has gone to be with him, of course. She has been going back and forth for some time, since both parents have health issues. Keep all of them in your prayers, if you will.

Best wishes to Dad on a continued recovery. So glad to hear everything went well. Will continue to pray for you & your family, recovery is harder that the surgery itself.

Hi my dear friends and thank you so much for all the prayer requests and thoughts. My parents live about 5 hours from me and I have only been home two nights in over two weeks. Sorry I didn't (couldn't) respond earlier but I can't get a signal in the area they live. VERY happy to report my Daddy did great with his surgery. He got out of the hospital last Friday and is at home recovering. He's doing great and trying to do too much already! Thank you Diane for posting this. It is very much appreciated. My dad read this on my nephews laptop and cried so he was thrilled. Thanks again to all of you. You make Diabetic Connect a place to come home to. Thanks again with all my heart, Angie

You're welcome, Angie. We feel so inadequate when friends and loved ones are suffering and in pain, but we know that prayer is precious and truly helps through the difficult times. I continue to pray that your mom and dad both do well. And you too! We miss you when you're out of touch!

Good to see your back and that your father is doing so well and home as well. I know it is a big relief for all of you, and us, your friends as well.
Welcome Back to DC!

Got another message a few minutes ago, and he's still doing well - ICU. They're going home to get some rest, which I'm sure they both need, since ICU visitation is what it is.

I sure will. Everybody needs prayers. Especially those people that are not saved and those that are sick and those that are having surgery. Our troops needs our prayers and our leaders need our prayers also.

You are so right. She will appreciate your prayers so much.

I have emailed her for an update, but have not heard yet. She may have her Blackberry turned off. When I hear I will advise everyone.

I will add Angie and her Dad to my prayer list and hope they both will fare well over the next couple of weeks. I know that when my mother went into the hospital prayers from everyone here helped tremendously.

She's out of touch right now, but I know Angie will be so appreciative of all of your thoughts and prayers. As soon as I know how he comes through the surgery, I will be sure to let everyone know. I know she corresponds with others of you, so she may let you know as well.

Personally I think that the "Discussion" section is exactly the right place for a post such as this one.

Its relationship to diabetes is right up there with the most uncontrolled part of our treatment, STRESS!

When loved ones become ill, it causes severe stress in each and every human being that LOVES. In a diabetic, this stress can be devastating to control of blood sugars no matter how careful you are with diet, exercise, and medications.

Angie's dad is the sick person, yet Angie's health may suffer as well due to stress and diabetes.

We pray for Angie and her dad because we all know that these same effects could happen to any one of us with Diabetes. We know that her life right now in caring for her parents has a double whammy effect on her simply because she is diabetic. We understand and care.

If this is NOT a Diabetes related discussion, then I truly don't understand what is.

Thanks for letting us know that this is happening. I will do as you have asked and I am sure many others will do the same thanks to your information.

I agree Avera "other" is such an open and vague discussion page, a prayer page would be awesome.

I wll keep Angie's father in my prayers. Jesus is the ultimate physician and he does hear our prayers.

God bless.

Thank you for posting this, Di, I had thought about doing it this morning when she sent me an email but I wasn't sure where to put it or if it would be appropriate for me to post it.

Thoughts and prayers be with Ang and her family.
