I have type 2, and am on prendisone for an inflammatory disease. I was told to take an additional 1000 mg of Vit D. Problem is, I can't find it by itself anywhere. Can anyone give me a clue where I can buy it?

Sometimes if you shop at bulk stores like BJS, you can buy vitamins in bulk. they have all the common vitamins. Could you take two 500 vitamin D's to hit your mark of 1,000. How about eating foods rich in vitamin D like almonds? Perhaps you could google search vitamin d foods.

I am type 1 diabetic and deficient in vitamin D. My physician ordered 1.25mg. vitamin D. 1 capsule per week. I usually take it on Thursdays. Maybe your physician could order you some.

Do you have a supermarket with a large vitamin aisle? Or perhaps a superlarge drugstore such as Walgreen's or CVS? Or maybe a sells-everything superstore like Wal-Mart, Target, or Big K-Mart? All of those will sell vitamin supplements, including Vitamin D.

Another thing that can help with Vitamin D is getting out into the sunlight for a few minutes a day, preferrably at peak sun… though I suspect the prednisone may make you more sensitive to the sun than usual?
