Hello.. I have had the blood drawn at the lab and it took 2 days for the results.. I have done the home test kit one which took about 8 minutes for the results and I also had the test done in the endo's office which took about 5 minutes for the results. They all have read in the low 5.2 to 5.6 which os normal readings for me.

How long did it take to get the test from Healthy Outcones? I did the stuff before Christmas and still haven't got my test kit yet. Guess I'd better sent Healthy Outcomes a query about it. LOL I'm very anxious to get one.

I think it took about three weeks to get mine. I ordered a glucose meter over a month ago and I'm still waiting on that one. Sometimes it may just take awhile. But since they do EVERYTHING free of charge its hard to complain. But I think sending an email asking a question seems very reasonable.

I got one from Healthy Outcomes and posted my results on here. I thought it was great. The results were very close to what the doctor's office reported. I'll be doing another home test in a few months. I think the Healthy Outcomes site is awesome.

Something came to mind while reading about you getting your A1C in the mail, last Friday when we took Laura to see the new Ped Endo, they did a 6 minute A1C test, the result was higher than that of the blood draw they did in Denver on Jan 22nd, anyone ever had this 6 min A1C done on them before or heard of it?

My PCP did a test in her office once that only took a few minutes and it seemed very accurate. The machine they used looked very similar to the standard bg meter.

Yes thats what they used on Laura, they had her prick her finger, tested from that with her meter, their meter and then this tiny plastic thing sucked the tiniest bit of blood and they put it in this thing like as you said, looked like a glucose meter and they said it took 6min for the A1C result. It was higher than the result from the vein draw that Denver did that took 3 days to get results but they said they will do this A1C each visit she has and compare them.

I did mine in December of 2008. It was easy to do and I got my results emailed to me. Very cool. It was my first A1c test also, and it gave me a place to start.

I know you can buy them at Wal-Mart, but I have never used one, I'd probably be horrified to know what my # is but then again another good wake-up call perhaps

I was really afraid to do mine, but I did it. I was expecting an 8-10 (really more like a 10) but I got a 7.6. And when I did my office lab one just 3 weeks later, it was 7.4. So I do have a way to go, but it was a relief to know...no matter what it was.

I've done the home test and actually the doctor accepted the results and didn't do one in his office last week. Although I'm not seeing him anymore, that was ONE thing I liked about him… LOL

Hope you get good results. It took just a few days to get the results back via email and then I saved it to my computer and printed a copy for the doctor.
