I went Monday to my first Endo visit. I think it went pretty well, she was a nice professional young woman who listened to all my questions. I won't know a whole lot until we get all the lab work back. She has me scheduled for what seems like a ton of lab work. She is checking for kidney problems, Hypoglycemic Agent, a comprehensive metabolic panel, cortisol, A1C, insulin, testosterone, T-4, TSH, C-Peptide, and insulin antibody. She gave me the lab request to get done here in my state at my doctors lab. She wants me to come back in a month and even though they are supposed to fax the results she wants me to bring a copy also.
She is also sending in a referral for me to a neurologist. She said it my take a while for me to get in due to everyone always has a back log of patients.

I also saw a terrific endo doctor. Same thing, I need a nephrologist work-up and will schedule that for a group near where I live. I go back after blood work in Sept. hopefully, I will not need to start medication. I am work hard at diet and exercise program as it worked for me before with all the good advice from my friends at diabetic connect.

She appears to be very thorough! Seems like she's not going to let anything slip through the cracks. It's great that you found a good doctor, actually, a good doc is a blessing! I'm happy for you!

Sounds like you have a keeper too. You and Just Joyce have been blessed to find doctors who seem to care and know what to do. That is great.

I'm glad you had a good initial visit since it's important to have an endocrinologist you're comfortable with and who listens to your questions. ~Lynn @Glucerna

The C-peptide will tell her whether you are producing any insulin at all, and it's good that she's doing T-4 as well as TSH for thyroid issues, common with us diabetics. Sounds like she's got you covered. Hoping for the best results possible Trudie Ann!
